Cover Reveal: Prodigy by Marie Lu

USA Today has the cover reveal for Prodigy by Marie Lu today. Check it out:

In a word: AWESOME. I absolutely loved Marie Lu’s Legend and I am so, so eager to get my hands on Prodigy. I love the colors, how they’re such a contrast to those of Legend, and I really dig the symbol, too. I’m sure the two books will look stunning together on my shelf. What do you all think?

Be sure to pop up on over to USA Today to read the first chapter from Prodigy.

Cover Reveal: Rebel Heart by Moira Young

Rebel Heart by Moira Young

My first reaction on seeing the cover on Hollywood Crush this morning was not “Omg, yay, the cover for Rebel Heart!” but, instead, “Damn, I hate cover redesigns!” I have a soft spot for the paperback cover, and I wouldn’t mind having a copy of it, but the first cover is pretty perfect in my opinion — it was one of my favorites of 2011 — and I was looking forward to seeing its companion for the sequel. It’s awesome to see Jack featured, but I wish it had been in similar fashion to the first…

It’s not an awful cover, and I’m sure it will grow on me, but right now I’m peeved that: 1) my book set won’t match (HATE) and 2) the font for this sucks (why is “Rebel Heart” so tiny?! will it have the prettiness of the font that the first cover did? PROBABLY NOT). What do you all think?

Cover Reveal: Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake

Kendare Blake just revealed the cover for Girl of Nightmares, the sequel to the very awesome Anna Dressed in Blood. I’m not quite sure how I feel about seeing her face on this cover, but I do think it’s a great contrast to the original and very fitting for Anna’s future in those last pages in Anna. I cannot wait to dive into this one! What do you all think? If you haven’t read the first book, definitely get around to doing so!

Cover Reveal: Insurgent by Veronica Roth

I really dug the cover for Veronica Roth’s Divergent, but this? Is SO gorgeous. I had it in my mind that the subsequent book covers would feature another faction symbol but, though I don’t know what it means, I dig this tree a lot (EDIT: Woah, quick refresher, it is the faction symbol for Amity). I like that the cover appears more subtle than the first, but as the tagline warns, “One choice can destroy you.” For those of us who read Divergent (and if you haven’t, hurry up!), we all know how crazy stuff got there at the end and I have no doubt that Veronica will keep up the pace in this sequel. EW’s Shelf Life also has a new interview with Veronica here. It’s not very spoilery, but do yourself a favor and read the first book before poking around!

Ahhh! What do you all think of the cover and tagline? Who else will be dying with anticipation for the book with me?

Cover Reveal: Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I read Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Half-Blood a while ago and I absolutely loved it (my review will be up closer to pub. date). Since then, I’ve been anxiously looking forward to seeing what she does next and, thankfully, we don’t have to wait much longer. I’m participating in the cover reveal of her upcoming title, Obsidian, and you can check it out below along with the blurb:

Blurb:
Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, outhouses, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring. Until I spotted my hot neighbor with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marked me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and the mark he left on me has me lit up like Las Vegas strip to the bad guys. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades. If I don’t kill him first, that is.

And then things get really bad…

She had me at “infuriating”, “arrogant”, and “stab-worthy.” Gah, gotta love those love/hate relationships! I loved the chemistry between Alex and Aiden in Half-Blood so I’m excited to see what does with these two. And then “alien”? Come on, I’m going to love this. I loved Roswell those many years ago and aliens have been absent from my favorites in YA — time to make up for that! What do you all think?
