Thursday’s This and That #3

Lots of bookish stuff ahead in this week’s This and That because I’m boring and my interests are very limited. WHAT CAN I SAY.

New Harry Potter covers

I woke up yesterday and laid in bed scrolling through my twitter feed, AS I DO, when I saw a tweet about new Harry Potter covers coming out. I sat up immediately and went, “WHAT.” Before I clicked on the link I was a little alarmed, but when I saw the artwork I went, “WANT.” It has similarities to the original U.S. covers, which is great, but I get such a more magical feel from this one. I’m definitely going to get my hands on these!

The Delirium TV Show

Here’s one thing I probably won’t be watching. I’m not a big TV viewer as it is, and I’m very iffy on Lena’s casting, but these changes? NO THANK YOU. I’m all about giving things a chance, but not when they’re so drastically different. Little changes in certain movie adaptations annoy me, so this would be too much for me to stomach.

Vampire Academy

I’m in a very Richelle Mead state of mind right now because, HELLO, The Indigo Spell! But the movie stuff for Vampire Academy is pretty exciting, too! I’m not familiar with the cast at all, but they’re very pretty and I think they fit the characters well, appearance wise. I’ll definitely be checking this out when it releases next year!

The Host

I randomly threw this in here because I just got done watching The Host cast on their live chat and they are ADORABLE. They also released the third trailer and it’s definitely my favorite of the ones released. ALSO, PRETTY!!

If you haven’t read the book, YOU SHOULD.

Tegan and Sara: Heartthrob

Oh, hey, something not book related! I hadn’t listened to Tegan & Sara for YEARS, but when I saw that they had a new album on Spotify I thought, “Why not?” It’s different from what I remember of them, but I’ve really been enjoying it and I’ve had the album on heavy rotation. Here’s my current favorite track:

    I love the new Harry Potter covers! I love the old ones too, but these was are so cute and fantasy like. I think it does a great job of capturing the spirit of the book.

    I hadn’t read about all those changes to Delirium. They make me VERY nervous. But I think I’ll still watch it to check it out

    The new Harry Potter covers are so pretty :) I love the details! <3 I didn't know about the Delirium TV-show, but I hate it when they change so many things without any good reason. Her father died instead of her mother – so, why would you do that? :s I'm not sure I will be watching it either.

    Ahhhh there’s just so much to be excited about! New HP covers and The Host movie and Tegan and Sara! Thanks for all this awesome info. And I had no idea about the Delirium series, and I don’t think I’ll watch it either. I don’t like that they’re fitting one entire book in the first episode. That’s insane and way too rushed!

    I’ve been going crazy with The Host live chat. Definitely excited for this one! I’ve also been excited about the VA news. Read The Indigo Spell a couple of days ago and was so happy.
    Don’t think I’ll be getting the new HP covers, but they’re definitely gorgeous. I do listen to a bit of Tegan and Sara, but not a lot. Music I’m listening to is Of Monsters and Men. They own my heart right now. =)
