In My Mailbox (15)

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren that allows us to share the books we’ve received during the week via our purchases, review copies, library checkouts, borrowing from friends, etc.

This week I got:

Lips Touch: Three Times by Laini Taylor (purchased) – I’m going to the Comic-Con YA panel that Laini is participating in later this month (with some other AMAZING authors, squee!) and, since I hadn’t read her book yet, I figured I would pick this up for myself. I’ve heard great things I’m about her writing so I’m excited to dive in.
Two-Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt (purchased) – Cialina made me curious about this one with her review and now, after having read Sometimes It Happens, I’m even more curious about Barnholdt’s writing!
Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout (for review) – I’ve heard sooo many good things about this! I already read the prequel and I’m hooked!
Paranormalcy by Kiersten White (purchased) – Another author who will be at the Comic-Con panel, woo hoo! I didn’t have a hard copy of this so I figured it was time to get it — especially with Supernaturally around the corner. My review for this one is here.
Daimon by Jennifer L. Armentrout (free download) – The prequel to Half-Blood. I won’t review this until I review the actual full novel, but you can download a copy here.
Tris & Izzie by Mette Ivie Harrison (for review) – I was excited to get this (hello, gorgeous cover!), but I’ve already read some iffy things about it. I guess we’ll see!

What did you get this week? Share your link and I’ll be sure to stop by.

Thank you to Spencer Hill Press and Egmont USA.

  1. Very nice mailbox. Mine will be up tommorow morning. Love IMM posts. Do like the books you have chosen.

  2. Ugh! I’ve read iffy things about Tris & Izzie too. :( I really love the cover though so I’m hoping for the best.

I have Half-Blood but I haven’t started reading it yet. Hopefully soon!

I can’t wait to read more Barnholdt stuff. I’ve been grabbing as many of her books lately so maybe I’ll read them soon! :)

  3. I like the sound of Half Blood, I’ll give Daimon a try first though. I still need to read Paranormalcy and get myself caught up.

    Here’s my IMM this week

  4. I’ve heard a lot of great things about Laini Taylor too – I hope Lips Touch is great! I have Daughter of Smoke & Bone and can’t wait to read it.

  5. I haven’t read any reviews for Tris & Izzie yet, but I hope it’s good! I think I’ll stay away from them until I’ve read it so I’m not colored by anything I read.

I read Two-Way Street ages ago and I remember liking it, although I couldn’t tell you why. :P I have a couple of other books by her on my shelf though, and I’m actually starting Sometimes It Happens soon. I hope you like it!

    Great mailbox this week! :)

  6. Tris and Izzie looks really good! I hope you enjoy Paranormalcy! Its a favorite of mine ^-^

  9. Some good books! I see you got Two Way Street – can’t wait to hear what you thought of it!

Yeah. I put my review of Tris and Izzie on Goodreads – I only got half way through. I feel so bad – its my first really negative review! I don’t know whether to post it on my blog, or whether to review it on NetGalley or not now!

Anyway – enjoy your books – I hope you like them all including Tris and Izzie! :D They all have rather gorgeous covers in any case!

  10. Oh woo, lookie at the hot books! I am so excited to read Laini Taylor’s novels after all the buzz I’ve been hearing about Daughter of Smoke and Bone. Her writing sounds SO beautiful. Ahh, jealous of you getting Tris and Izzie! And a paperback of Half Blood. I have the ebook but ebooks are not my friend. Anyway, enjoy! :)

  11. I’m hoping that Tris and Izzie will be a great read. I’m kind of worried! Great mailbox! I hope you enjoy all your reads!

  12. Great books this week. Loved Two -Way Street and Paranormalcy.

  13. I’ve read some pretty negative reviews about Tris and Izzie, too. I’m nervous! Guess I’ll have to see for myself. Yay for Paranormalcy!

  14. I quite liked Half Blood! I’ve got paranormalcy too and it sounds awesome but I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. Thanks for stopping by my IMM post!
